Spexce's Network

Rules & Policies

The full ruleset for in-game, Discord, and all Spexce's Network platforms.

By joining the server you agree to follow every rule on every page below. They apply across in-game, Discord, the website, and the store. If anything is unclear, ask staff before assuming.

Rules can change as the server grows. We will announce material updates in Discord and on the website. Every section page opens with a "short version" box, so you can skim the essentials before reading the detail.

Pick a section below to read the rules in detail.

New to the server? Start with General Conduct. Got a punishment to dispute? Jump to Appeals & Staff.

Respect, fair play, PvP consent, chat behavior, and how we expect everyone to treat each other in-game and on Discord.

One main account per player, no alts, account sharing and security, impersonation, username and skin standards, and ban evasion.

FTB Chunks, the 6-month inactivity expiration, 16-chunk buffer zones, no-claim areas, shared claims, monthly resource-world resets, and eyesore cleanup.

The /transactions log, the Auction House, /trade, drop-trade warnings, scam policy, the shopping district rules, market manipulation, and no real-money trading.

Spawner and accelerator caps, auto-collect requirements, entity and TPS mindfulness, redstone clocks, destructive-machine containment, and no anti-AFK machines.

How escalation works, the full punishment table, evidence standards, the 90-day log retention window, and how staff judge severity.

How to contact staff, how to file an appeal, what to include, the 48-72 hour SLA, and what happens during review.

No sharing personal info, doxxing and threat policy, recording and streaming etiquette, minor safety, and how to handle harassment.

Spexce's Network

Rules & Policies · Section 1 of 8

General Conduct

How we expect everyone to treat each other in-game and on Discord.

This is the foundation. The rules on this page apply to everyone, all the time, on every platform we run. Almost every other rule on the rest of the site builds on what's written here.

If you only read one section of the rules, this is the one to read.

The short version

If you only read one thing on this page, read this. Each linked title jumps to the full rule below.

  • Be respectful: treat players and staff like real people. Consensual banter is fine; if someone asks you to stop, stop. Slurs and hate speech are never "just a joke."
  • No harassment: targeting someone with bullying, threats, repeated insults, or attention they have asked you to stop. Starts at a 24-hour mute and escalates fast.
  • Keep disputes out of public chat: problems with a player or a staff decision go in a Discord ticket, not global chat.
  • PvP is consent-only: do not attack other players unless both of you agreed to fight. Spawn camping and following someone to harass them count as harassment.
  • Don't accuse cheaters in public: think someone is cheating? File a Discord ticket. Public witch-hunts get the accuser punished if they are wrong.
  • Respect claims and other players' work: never break, take from, or modify another player's builds, claims, or items without permission, claimed or not.
  • Keep chat clean: no spam, caps-flooding, character-flooding, or walls of text. Light profanity is fine; chat that is mostly profanity is not.
  • No advertising other servers: no links, names, or invites for other Minecraft or Discord servers, including IPs in chests, signs, or coded references.
  • Use the right channel: post help questions, build showcases, and so on in their channels. Persistent off-topic posting escalates under chat rules.
  • Discord rules apply everywhere: everything on this site applies in our Discord too, on top of Discord's own rules.
  • Punishments cross platforms: a serious ban or mute on one side usually means the same on the other. The community is one community.
  • Use /ignore for minor friction: if someone is mildly annoying but not breaking rules, /ignore <player> in-game (or block on Discord) handles it. Save tickets for what you cannot.
  • Report issues through tickets: found a bug, exploit, or rule-breaker? Open a Discord ticket. Do not announce exploits, do not "test" them, do not name suspects in global.
Respect & Fair Play

Be respectful.

Treat every player and staff member like a real person, because they are one. Banter and friendly trash-talk between people who consent is fine. The line is when it stops being fun for the other person, and the test is simple: if they ask you to stop, you stop. Slurs, hate speech, and content designed to demean someone for who they are never qualify as "just a joke" and are handled under harassment, not chat-tier rules.

No harassment.

Targeting another player with bullying, repeated insults, threats, discriminatory language, or any pattern of attention they've asked you to stop is harassment, regardless of how it's worded. This is treated more seriously than minor chat issues and starts at a 24-hour mute, escalating quickly. See Moderation & Punishments for the full escalation table.

Take disputes out of public chat.

If you have a problem with another player, a staff decision, or something that happened in-game, do not air it in global chat or in unrelated Discord channels. Open a ticket in Discord. Public drama almost always makes the situation worse and pulls bystanders into a fight that wasn't theirs. Staff cannot mediate something they only see one side of in chat.

PvP is consent-only.

Do not attack other players unless both of you have agreed to fight. PvP outside arranged fights, spawn camping, repeatedly killing the same player, or following someone around to harass them all count as harassment. If a player has a PvP toggle off or has asked you to stop, leave them alone. Loot from non-consensual kills can be returned by staff.

Do not call out cheaters in public chat.

If you think another player is cheating, do not accuse them in chat, do not start a witch-hunt, and do not tell other players to avoid them. File a report through a Discord ticket and let staff investigate.

Modded Minecraft is full of legitimate items that look like cheating at first glance:

  • Jetpacks and flight rings
  • Teleport amulets
  • Fast-place tools
  • Dozens of other late-game gadgets

Public accusations get the accuser punished alongside the accused if the accusation turns out to be wrong, and they make staff's job harder either way.

Respect claims and other players' work.

Never break, take from, or modify another player's builds, claimed land, or items without their permission.

This also covers borderline cases:

  • Stripping unclaimed builds you find while exploring
  • Opening unlocked chests on someone else's plot
  • Using a player's farms while they're offline

If something looks abandoned, ask staff before assuming it is. Full claim and griefing rules live in Claiming & Land.

Chat & Communication

Keep chat clean.

Don't:

  • Spam or flood with repeated messages
  • Use walls of capital letters
  • Character-flood (random keyboard mashing)
  • Paste walls of unrelated text

Keep language reasonable. Light profanity in casual conversation is fine; chat that's mostly profanity, or profanity directed at someone, is not. If staff ask you to tone it down, tone it down.

No advertising other servers.

Do not post links to, names of, or invitations for other Minecraft servers, Discord servers, or game communities. This includes "you should also try X" comments, IPs in your build chests, signs at your base, or coded references that are clearly trying to get around the rule. Talking about another server in passing because it's relevant to a conversation is fine; recruiting is not.

Use the right channel for the right purpose.

In Discord, post help questions in the help channels, build screenshots in the build-showcase channels, and so on. In-game, use global chat for things relevant to the whole server and party or local chat for smaller conversations. Off-topic posting in dedicated channels gets your messages deleted; persistent off-topic posting after warnings escalates under chat rules.

Discord rules apply everywhere.

Everything on this rules site applies in our Discord exactly the same way it applies in-game. Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines apply on top of our rules. The same conduct standards apply in voice channels, threads, and DMs that originate from our community.

Punishments cross platforms.

Major punishments apply on both Minecraft and Discord. If you are banned from the game server for harassment, you can expect to be banned from Discord too. If you're timed out in Discord for a serious chat violation, in-game staff will be told and may take parallel action. The community is one community.

Use /ignore for minor friction.

If another player is being mildly annoying but not breaking rules, the in-game /ignore <player> command hides their chat from you. In Discord, you can block users from your client. These tools handle most low-grade friction without staff involvement. Save tickets for situations you can't solve yourself.

Report issues through tickets, not public chat.

Found a bug, exploit, lag spike, or rule-breaker? Open a Discord ticket and tell staff. Do not announce exploits in chat, do not "test" them to see if they still work, and do not name suspected rule-breakers in global. Players who responsibly report exploits get recognition. Players who use one and then claim "I was just reporting it" get treated as having used it.

Spexce's Network

Rules & Policies · Section 2 of 8

Account & Identity

Who you are on Spexce's Network and how we keep your account secure.

Your Minecraft account is your identity here. It holds your rank, your claims, your balance, your friends, and your reputation. The rules in this section protect both the integrity of that identity and the broader server from people trying to game it.

If anything in this section is unclear, ask staff in Discord before logging in.

The short version

If you only read one thing on this page, read this. Each linked title jumps to the full rule below.

  • One main account per player: pick the Minecraft account you will play on long term and stick with it. It holds your rank, claims, balance, and reputation. Want to switch? Open a ticket first.
  • No account sharing: you are responsible for everything done on your account. "My brother did it" and "I got hacked" are not defenses unless you reported the compromise to staff beforehand.
  • Account security is your responsibility: strong unique password, 2FA on, never share credentials or auth tokens, avoid sketchy "free cosmetic" tools. Suspect a breach? Open a ticket immediately.
  • Username and skin standards: your username, skin, cape, nickname, and Discord name must not contain slurs, hate speech, sexual content, hate symbols, or impersonation. Change it promptly if staff ask.
  • No alt accounts: one Minecraft account per player. Household members play on their own accounts as their own players. A second account used to dodge a punishment or a resource cap is treated like ban evasion.
  • No impersonation: do not pretend to be staff, another player, a content creator, or a Mojang or Microsoft rep, in names, skins, avatars, or chat.
  • Ban evasion is a permanent ban: joining on a new account or IP to bypass an active ban, mute, or ecoban gets you permanently banned across all linked accounts, and the original punishment resets to permanent. Appeal, don't evade.
Your Account

One main account per player.

Choose the Minecraft account you intend to play on long term, and stick with it. That account holds your rank, claims, balance, friend permissions, history, and reputation.

Switching to a new "main" account part-way through means losing all of those and starting from scratch.

If you want to switch, open a ticket first. In some cases we can help transfer claims and rank; in others the answer is no. Either way, we can only help if you ask before you switch.

No account sharing.

You are responsible for everything that happens on your account, period. Anything someone else does while logged in as you, the punishment falls on the account owner.

The following are not defenses on their own:

  • "My brother did it"
  • "A friend was using my PC"
  • "I got hacked"

One exception: a confirmed account compromise that you reported to staff before the rule-breaking happened. If you told us your account was breached and we have logs that support it, we work with you. Reporting compromise after the misconduct does not retroactively clear it.

Account security is your responsibility.

Protect your Microsoft account:

  • Use a strong, unique password
  • Turn on two-factor authentication in Microsoft Security settings
  • Never share your credentials with anyone, ever
  • Never paste your auth token in public
  • Don't run sketchy "free cape" or "free cosmetic" tools (the most common Minecraft account compromise vector)

If you suspect your account is compromised, open a ticket immediately. Compromised accounts may be temporarily locked while staff verify ownership, and your claim contents are protected from being looted during the lock. Recovery and item restoration are handled case by case.

Username and skin standards.

Your username, skin, cape, in-game nickname, and Discord display name must not contain slurs, hate speech, sexual content, hate symbols, or content designed to target or impersonate a specific person. Borderline items are judged in context.

If staff ask you to change a skin, nickname, or display name, do so promptly. Refusing escalates under chat rules.

If you're unsure whether a skin or name is OK, ask before logging in with it. We'd rather answer the question than process a punishment.

Alts & Identity

No alt accounts.

One Minecraft account per player, period. Household members who also want to play do so on their own Microsoft accounts as their own player on the server, with their own claims, ranks, and limits. They are not your alts.

There are no approved use cases for a second account on the same player. A "build," "storage," or "display" account each doubles your share of:

  • Apothic Spawners
  • Force-loaded chunks
  • Claimed chunks
  • Per-chunk entity budget

...which is the entire reason those caps exist.

Logging in on a second account is a violation by itself:

  • While your main has an active mute, ban, or ecoban → treated as ban evasion (see below)
  • To dodge per-player resource caps (spawners, claims, force-loaded chunks) → treated with the same severity as ban evasion

If you want to switch which Minecraft account you play on, see "One main account per player" above and open a ticket first.

No impersonation.

Do not pretend to be a Spexce staff member, another player, a content creator, or a Mojang/Microsoft representative. This applies to in-game nicknames, skins, Discord display names, profile pictures, and behavior in chat.

Common examples we reject:

  • Skins or names mimicking staff, especially with look-alike characters or zero-width spaces
  • Discord profiles cloning a regular's avatar
  • Anyone claiming to be "from Mojang" to phish credentials
  • Players invoking false staff authority to push others around
